Pyramis and Renault Consulting

A well established partnership

Renault Consulting - Renault Nissan

Pyramis signed a partnership agreement with Renault Consulting in 2007. This offshoot of the automobile constructer was created in 1989 for its in-house activities.

In 1991 (the same year that Pyramis was created) it became the Renault Institute for quality, consulting and training, open to external companies. Success was very quick to arrive, shown by the development of the Institute in France and internationally. In 2007, the Renault Institute became Renault Consulting.

Renault has been a client of Pyramis for many years. Services include accompanying the development of reliability in new, innovative systems (for example the 4-wheel steering shown on the Renault Laguna) and for various process optimisation actions related to very diverse sectors of the company : the Information Technology department, the Enterprise Service department, procurement, sales, after-sales, logistics, supply, warranty and Renault Sport (Formula 1 motors)… Since 2007, these activities are carried out under the aegis of Renault Consulting according to the internal regulations of the automobile constructor and also very often in coordination with the consultants of the two companies.

Over and above the relationship created by carrying out these missions, the exchanges that form part of this partnership are based on the sharing and co-development of methods. The result is :

  • for Renault and the clients of Renault Consulting: access to the OptiQ© and Odi-C© methods developed by Pyramis; benefiting from Pyramis's experience, notably in aeronautics and space; the activities of new-product development and process optimisation, complementary to those of Renault Consulting, as well as close proximity to all entities in South-West France,
  • for Pyramis and its clients, the benefits of Renault Consulting's experience, particularly for the Renault Production System and the Lean Sigma process; the possibility to be accompanied internationally and the possibility to mobilise a large group of experienced consultants when necessary,
  • for both structures: the combination of best practices; the swapping of experience and training between consultants; the grouping of resources for R&D activities and for methodological development, such was the case for the development of OptiQ© version 4 in 2009.

This partnership activity is very intense today and the synergy between the two structures clearly confirms the complementarity of the paths they have taken over the past 20 years.

Apart from this partnership, it is of note that Pyramis was elected to the panel of consulting companies by the Renault Nissan Alliance. Pyramis was selected for its competence in process optimisation, reengineering… This integration took place even though the Alliance reduced the number of panel members to 30 companies worldwide, which represents for Pyramis an acknowledgement of the quality of its services and the pertinence of its methods.
